The Odyssey Curriculum

The Odyssey Curriculum is for children aged 0-5 and prioritises differentiated and personalised learning, catering to each child’s individual developmental progress and readiness to learn. Inspired by Reggio Emilia, with well-established programmes developed in Asia, the UK curriculum is authentic to the Odyssey philosophy and principles, while also ensuring it both meets and goes above and beyond the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Learning Without Boundaries

This is the overarching pedagogical principle that advocates children as directors of their own learning, where they are nurtured to become competent learners and active citizens of the world.

Built around the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), The Odyssey Curriculum is a rich and diverse blend of knowledge and skill building, developed through innovative programmes that expand every child’s world and simultaneously furthers their own personal development.

Bespoke learning

Reggio Emilia inspired, with children as active participants in directing their own learning.

The learning community of parents, teachers and the child work together to guide development both at Odyssey and at home, meeting every six months to discuss learning goals and progress.

Parents are provided with a Summary Report at the end of each year to cover the child’s development and progress over the year.

Our unique assessment framework promotes continuous evolution of the curriculum unique to each child, to ensure they’re always progressing towards the next exciting step.

3 – 12 months

The Junior Bambino curriculum encourages early exploration of the world around them, nurtures their own identity, and develops the foundations for knowledge and skills, through age-appropriate and personalised learning journeys, guided by our experienced team.

Bambino Soundscape

Children can explore the sounds of the world around them, through actions, nature, and objects

Bambino Gym

Physical activities and movement nurture each child’s developing gross motor skills

Outdoor Learning Experiences

Sensory exploration of and connection with nature, to enhance physical and mental wellbeing, self-confidence and appreciation of the environment.

Bambino Music

Explore melodies, beats, rhythms and movement.

Bambino Art

Immersion in a vibrant universe of colours, textures and shapes to nurture individual expression and creativity.

Senior Bambino

13 to 24 months

An age-appropriate continuation of The Junior Bambino curriculum, Senior Bambino is adapted to each child’s progress and interests to ensure they’re always guided towards the next exciting step in their development. At this age, children are also introduced to Bambino Chef.

Enjoyable experiences in interacting with real food ingredients that offer children a rich sensorial exploration that stimulates their sense of touch, taste, smell sight and sound.

Our Kaleidoscope programme engages children in multi-sensory and hands-on interactions that develop their sensory and fine motor skills, through carefully curated materials and manipulative instruments.

Our Ray of Light programme invites children to embark on a playful exploration of light and shadow, encouraging imaginative play and developing foundational mathematical skills.

Gym Play

Promoting development of gross motor skills such as movement, balance and stability through playful physical activities.

Outdoor Learning Experiences

Preschool

37 months+

The Preschool Curriculum is an age-appropriate continuation of the Bambino and Tots experiences, with enhanced programmes to promote inquiry, further develop knowledge and skills, and introduce new concepts to help prepare children for school and beyond.

Explore and Discover

An inquiry process that engages children in exploration, investigation and discovery to make sense of the world around them, guided by each child’s unique interests to empower them as directors of their own learning.

Communication Avenue

A learning community comes together to engage in dialogue and discussions on topics, interests or events that are happening around them, to learn more about the world.

Literacy Integration

Planned around storytelling and extension activities, literature is the foundation for acquiring and enhancing skills such as speaking, listening, vocabulary, word recognition, reading and pre-writing skills.

Math Inquiry

Mathematical concepts and skills are explored, with a curious and analytical approach through meaningful activities, real-world activities and different subjects within the curriculum.

Art Odyssey

A progression from previous Art Odyssey experiences, children explore elements of art including techniques and media.

Music Odyssey

An age-appropriate continuation, children are engaged with musical instruments, performance, rehearsal and theatre.

Gym Play

Building on earlier Gym Play experiences, gross motor skills are developed through playful fitness activities, sports and games.

Creative Cucina

Interactions with food, ingredients, kitchen tools and equipment promote each child’s awareness of kitchen and food safety and experiences of planning and preparing food. Sustainable Cucina is also introduced with it’s ‘garden-to-table’ concept to support food appreciation.
